Thirty-one strains of Lactobacillus species isolated from human vagina were screened for the presence of indigenous plasmids and antibiotic susceptibility pattern. A diversified distribution of plasmid DNA among the examined strains wae evidenced. The resistance pattern was rather homogeneous and similar to that of lactobacilli originated from other natural habitats.

Abstract
