Dostoevsky's calligraphy and drawings have recently become an object of study, due to K. Barsht's works, on the one hand, and the Petrozavodsk Textological Group on the other. This paper focuses on the role of calligraphy in Dostoevsky's creative processes commemorated in his notebooks. A calligraphic word truly differs in its qualities from the word that operates in the logical narrative context.
