The purpose of this paper is to analyze when and how IT risks and Cyber risks impact on the continuity and vulnerability of the upstream supply chain. We developed a theoretical framework that may support organizations in managing these risks. Hence, we empirically investigated how managers perceive, monitor and manage IT and Cyber risks. The preliminary findings reveal that these risks are not formally managed by the 66% of the sample, with a low commitment from top managers. Respondents described approaches, opportunities and limits in managing these risks, highlighting the consequences on supply relationships.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze when and how IT risks and Cyber risks impact on the continuity and vulnerability of the upstream supply chain. We developed a theoretical framework that may support organizations in managing these risks. Hence, we empirically investigated how managers perceive, monitor and manage IT and Cyber risks. The preliminary findings reveal that these risks are not formally managed by the 66% of the sample, with a low commitment from top managers. Respondents described approaches, opportunities and limits in managing these risks, highlighting the consequences on supply relationships.
