The B-lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS), also known as BAFF (B-cell activator factor belonging to the TNF family), is a recently identified novel member of the TNF ligand superfamily that is important in B cell maturation and survival, and in the development of autoimmune disorders, as well. Herein, we demonstrate that human neutrophils , following incubation with G-CSF or, less efficiently, IFNgamma, express high levels of BLyS mRNA and release elevated amounts of biologically active BLyS.
G-CSF-stimulated neutrophils are a prominent source of functional B-lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS)

Abstract
The B-lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS), also known as BAFF (B-cell activator factor belonging to the TNF family), is a recently identified novel member of the TNF ligand superfamily that is important in B cell maturation and survival, and in the development of autoimmune disorders, as well.
