Entrepreneurship represents an interesting way of developing professionally and personally: people have different levels of aptitudes, and they are led to be entrepreneurs for various motivations. As in other studies (Grilo and Thurik, 2004; GEM, 2005), we equate self-employment to entrepreneurship: those workers that provide income for themselves in an independent way. Our research was carried out with the Chamber of Commerce’s New-Entrepreneurial-Service in Verona, a free service that offers informational and training services to aspiring entrepreneurs. The objects of the research are: to quantify how many users have become entrepreneurs, to understand processes and difficulties encountered in becoming entrepreneurs, and to identify variables that can influence successful enterprise creation.
