This article proposes an in-depth analysis of the interpretative options of Event/Result nominals and, in particular, it aims at identifying the semantic contribution of the head-suffixes of these derived lexemes. Specifically concerned with Result nouns, the author attempts to systematically derive their various semantic patterns in Italian, which have been usually described as outcomes of unpredictable semantic drift.

Abstract
