In the present work, we analyze a fix panel which is constituted from the universe of the companies of the Italian mechanical sector in the period 1997-1999. The main goal is to test, in each macro-region, the eventual lognormality of the firm size, which we choose to represent by one of the main item of company accounts: total assets.
