This article explores the origins and development of the Arturo Frinzi Library at the University of Verona, founded in the 1960s as a central institution of the university and permanently established in 1987. It focuses on Arturo Frinzi – jurist, intellectual, and patron – whose private collection of legal and cultural works, later donated to the University, exemplifi es the integration of personal libraries into academic heritage. Th rough an analysis of the collection’s history, composition, and institutional role, the study highlights how university libraries, beyond their educational and research functions, act as custodians of cultural identity and collective memory. Th e Frinzi Library thus emerges as a dynamic space of intellectual continuity between private and public knowledge, contributing to the transmission and renewal of learning within the academic community.
