Abstract. After a brief description of the case dealt with by the Court of Justice on 4 October 2024 and the elements of interest in the field of equal pay for women and men dealt with, the contribution draws a synthetic overview of the Court’s overall jurisprudence on equal pay. The recent 2024 judgment is also linked to the closest precedent in the specific matter (C-624/19 of 3 June 2021, K and Others, et al v. Tesco) to establish the fundamental judicial functioning of the principle of equal pay. In view of the transposition of Dir. 2023/970/EU aiming to strengthen the application of the principle of equal pay for men and women through pay transparency and its enforcement mechanisms by 7 June 2026, the final part of the note points out the collective questions related to the case dealt with.
