The problem of ‘tragic’ in Gianni Carchia’s thought has not yet been critically considered by scholars. This paper aims to compensate for this gap. After setting out the salient features of the notion of ‘tragic’ in the author’s thought, the focus is on one of his main sources, the poet Friedrich Hölderlin. In particular, the Grund zum Empedokles and the Anmerkungen to Sophocles prove to be decisive texts for the elaboration of Carchia’s concept of ‘aesthetic form’. The final part of the paper is dedicated to the critical discussion of this concept in its relation to knowledge and catharsis.

Abstract
The problem of ‘tragic’ in Gianni Carchia’s thought has not yet been critically considered by scholars. This paper aims to compensate for this gap. After setting out the salient features of the notion of ‘tragic’ in the author’s thought, the focus is on one of his main sources, the poet Friedrich Hölderlin. In particular, the Grund zum Empedokles and the Anmerkungen to Sophocles prove to be decisive texts for the elaboration of Carchia’s concept of ‘aesthetic form’. The final part of the paper is dedicated to the critical discussion of this concept in its relation to knowledge and catharsis.File in questo prodotto:
