The district of Stufles in Bressanone (Bolzano) is known for its archaeological finds, proof that the site has been inhabited since prehistoric times (Mesolithic period, Middle Neolithic period [beginning of the Square Mouthed Vases culture], late Copper age, final Bronze age, Iron age, Roman period, Middle Ages, Modern age and contemporary age). This article presents the study of the faunal remains from the Roman and medieval levels of Villa Dirce and Oberegger. The data obtained have been included in a broader framework of contemporary sites to increase knowledge of settlement dynamics in the Alpine area. The faunal remains of the two sites have a similar composition, with a greater prevalence of domestic animals than wild ones. Mainly cattle and caprines were bred, whereas pigs were fewer in number. The size variability of the cattle reveals the presence of different coexisting forms; sheep and pig forms fall within the average range for the Bressanone basin. As for horses, a small specimen was found in Oberegger.

Abstract
As for horses, a small specimen was found in Oberegger.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
