Starting from the research on the choreographic fortune of Dante by R. Fratini, I will analyse some contemporary dance performances during the latest centenary in the new millennium. Through the juxtaposition of different European professional companies, I will highlight how Dante is interpreted by the different choreographic practices of the companies examined, and how above all the Comedy becomes the inspirational object for performances with minimalist (Ballett Dortmund), maximalist, full of technological elements (Sergei Polunin), and participatory (Virgilio Sieni) aspects. From these analyses, an articulate international dance panorama emerges, which testifies to a constant fortune of Dante in dance that is far from having exhausted itself in the recent centenary of 2021.
