The aim of this paper is to reflect on the role played by destiny, chance and free choice in Todorov’s late works and interviews. The focus is also on introspection, autobiographism and on a dialogic method called ‘interpellative criticism’. The article concludes with a suggestion to think outside the box (and outside the label).
