Equity-based crowdfunding has been recently reformed in Italy, a country whose importance in global fashion industry is well known. The paper focuses on the impact on fashion companies’ activities of some rules enacted by the Italian financial markets authority (Consob). Particular attention is paid to the role of professional investors, which is an Italian peculiarity, as a comparative analysis of rules enacted in other EU countries shows.

Abstract

Equity-based crowdfunding has been recently reformed in Italy, a country whose importance in global fashion industry is well known. The paper focuses on the impact on fashion companies’ activities of some rules enacted by the Italian financial markets authority (Consob).
