The use of gastroprotective agents has allowed significant progress in the prevention of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and antiplatelet agents. Nevertheless, some concerns remain regarding the gastroprotective dosage and treatment duration.
