The Holy Trinity of Felice Brusasorci was commissioned by Gaspare Verità (1573 c.): the painting expresses Agostinian values and is a part of a wider program whose goal was the celebration of Gaspare's restricted family, in competition with contemporary works commissioned by other branche of the Verità family. A similar competitive behaviour among different braches of the same family can explain the Holy Trinity attributed to Jacopo Ligozzi (1577 c.), whose commission is here assigned to Leonardo Banda.
