Der epistemologische Status der Begriffe „Morphem“ und „Wurzel

This paper aims at describing some aspects of the Boppian agglutination theory in the light of his linguistic methods. Bopp’s methodology will also be traced down to modern theoretic approaches. The paper is divided into five parts: 1. The intra-Boppian development of the agglutination theory – 2. The importance of Bopp’s theory with his contemporaries – 3. The reception of his method in the 19th century – 4. Some metalinguistic remarks – 5. Bopp’s linguistic model revisited from the modern point of view.
