The language of fashion is characterized by a wide use of metaphors. This paper aims at considering this figure of speech through the analysis of a corpus of articles from the fashion magazines "Vogue" and "Elle". The extraction of metaphors in these texts leads to the identification of a double metaphorical level: it is possible to identify, on the one hand, the terminological metaphors that are part of the terminology of fashion and, on the other hand, metaphors charged with a rhetorical value. Some examples are presented and discussed from a syntactic and semantic point of view, by exploring the main functions of denomination and prompting to the purchase of products.

Le langage de la mode étant caractérisé par un vaste recours à la métaphore, la présente contribution se propose de se pencher sur cette figure de style par le biais de l’analyse d’un corpus d’articles parus dans les revues de mode « Vogue » et « Elle ». L’extraction des métaphores dans ces textes mène à l’identification d’un niveau métaphorique double : d’une part sont relevées les métaphores terminologiques qui se sont implantées dans le lexique de la mode, d’autre part sont analysées les métaphores vives ayant une valeur rhétorique. Des exemples sont fournis et examinés d’un point de vue syntaxique et sémantique, illustrant leurs différentes fonctions : le besoin de dénomination et l’incitation à l’achat des produits.
