The language of fashion is characterized by a wide use of metaphors. This paper aims at considering this figure of speech through the analysis of a corpus of articles from the fashion magazines "Vogue" and "Elle". The extraction of metaphors in these texts leads to the identification of a double metaphorical level: it is possible to identify, on the one hand, the terminological metaphors that are part of the terminology of fashion and, on the other hand, metaphors charged with a rhetorical value. Some examples are presented and discussed from a syntactic and semantic point of view, by exploring the main functions of denomination and prompting to the purchase of products.

Abstract
The language of fashion is characterized by a wide use of metaphors. This paper aims at considering this figure of speech through the analysis of a corpus of articles from the fashion magazines "Vogue" and "Elle". The extraction of metaphors in these texts leads to the identification of a double metaphorical level: it is possible to identify, on the one hand, the terminological metaphors that are part of the terminology of fashion and, on the other hand, metaphors charged with a rhetorical value. Some examples are presented and discussed from a syntactic and semantic point of view, by exploring the main functions of denomination and prompting to the purchase of products.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
