The urinary excretion of alanine-aminopeptidase (AAP) and N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) was studied in 58 healthy neonates, 36 of whom delivered at term and 22 delivered preterm. The enzymuria assays were made using the colorimetric method on 24-h urine samples. Percentile tables were constructed for both groups of neonates to provide normality data useful for evaluating nephrotoxicity
