According to recent hypothesis, Dante could have written his canzone montanina at Pratovecchio, near the source of the Arno, hosted in the castle of the count Guido Salvatico, one of the leaders of the Guelfi neri. Some passages of the canto XVI of the Inferno, such as the mention of Guido Guerra, a preeminent member of the Guidi family, would confirm this journey. Now, some unpublished documents show that Pratovecchio was not a castle suitable for hosting someone who, like Dante, was used to provide services to his patrons.
