This study investigates the perceptions of the chairpersons and executive directors of these entities about the ability of the governance structure to support the Foundations in pursuing the interest of the communities for which they act. The results show that representation, independence, and professionalism are consi- dered as fundamental for the Foundations’ going concern. Abstract
According to the recent ACRI-MEF agreement, Foundations’ boards must be able to understand, represent and satisfy the interests of the lo- cal communities in which they are rooted. This study investigates the perceptions of the chairpersons and executive directors of these entities about the ability of the governance structure to support the Foundations in pursuing the interest of the communities for which they act. The results show that representation, independence, and professionalism are consi- dered as fundamental for the Foundations’ going concern. Additionally, the need of legitimacy requires a greater and more conscious use of sta- keholder engagement tools, already diffused in other nonprofit contexts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
