Vincenzo Monti’s early production is characterised by a deep stylistic and thematic research, inspired to a wide entourage of readings and open to Pre-Romantic foreign suggestions, in particular, Klopstock and Young. This essay takes into account the sources and the thematic ideas of Pensiero VIII (1783), a composition of particular interest within the frame of poetic language innovation towards Romanticism. Monti seems to force intentionally the change in the styles of writing already experienced in previous poetry by adapting the lines to the sublime tone.

Abstract
Vincenzo Monti’s early production is characterised by a deep stylistic and thematic research, inspired to a wide entourage of readings and open to Pre-Romantic foreign suggestions, in particular, Klopstock and Young. This essay takes into account the sources and the thematic ideas of Pensiero VIII (1783), a composition of particular interest within the frame of poetic language innovation towards Romanticism. Monti seems to force intentionally the change in the styles of writing already experienced in previous poetry by adapting the lines to the sublime tone.File in questo prodotto:
