Experimental trials were described on composting: 1) a mixture of wheat straw and tomato processing waste, 2) sawdust from cork processing mixed with urban sewage sludge, 3) a mixture of olive-husks and sewage sludge, 4) a mixture of vegetable tannery sludge and the organic fraction of solid urban waste. Data obtained with agronomical use of these composts are also given. Experiments were done with the static pile composting system using forced pressure ventilation in conjunction with temperature feedback control. The main physical, chemical and biological factors influencing microbial activity were discussed.

Abstract
Experimental trials were described on composting: 1) a mixture of wheat straw and tomato processing waste, 2) sawdust from cork processing mixed with urban sewage sludge, 3) a mixture of olive-husks and sewage sludge, 4) a mixture of vegetable tannery sludge and the organic fraction of solid urban waste. Data obtained with agronomical use of these composts are also given. Experiments were done with the static pile composting system using forced pressure ventilation in conjunction with temperature feedback control. The main physical, chemical and biological factors influencing microbial activity were discussed.File in questo prodotto:
