A comparative analysis was made of three open composting systems, each of which was based on a different aeration system. The three methods of aeration were turning, vacuum-induced ventilation, and pressure (forced air) ventilation. Raw materials used in the study were the organic fraction of solid urban waste. Dynamics of the microbial communities during the biostabilization process is described.
