EnglishThis essay examines recurring motifs of the so called “Wende-literature” in recent autobiographical writing and autofiction, in order to analyse how the latest generation of young writers interpreted Germany]’s recent past from division to reunification. The objective is to outline the contours of a generational experience, which is both new and yet characterized by an urge to confront the German past and its re-negotiation.
