This paper aims to provide an overview of the European institutions directly related to public communication policies. More specifically, the interest is focused on the measures taken together with the signing of the Treaty of Lisbon. Therefore, after a brief mention on the major changes in European institutions, with the entry into force of the Treaty of Lisbon, we will try to investigate what was the evolution of communication policies and we will focus on the activities of institutions aimed to implementation of the strategic objectives set in relation to the importance given to communication processes.
