40 cases each of neurasthenics, hysterics, and obsessives were selected and information was obtained from each case record regarding age, mental illness of immediate relatives, family size, birth order, marital status, social class, education, place of birth, place of residence, and work responsibility. "statistical analysis showed that patients with obsessive illness tend to belong to a higher social class, come from and live in a larger town, and have greater responsibilities in their work (only for males).
