During the last decades, Cognitive Linguistics has pointed out the importance of metaphor as a mental mechanism that contributes to the conceptualization of reality as well as to the verbal expression of human knowledge and feelings. Following this theory, my paper proposes a conceptual analysis of Spanish and Italian metaphorical phrases concerning the ideas of fear and anger, and including the name of at least one part of the human body as internal constituent. The aim of this work is, therefore, to investigate how the mapping across two unrelated subjects contribute to enrich Spanish and Italian phraseological universes creating similar or identical idioms in both languages.
