Abstract

It has become increasingly difficult to discuss children’s literature without placing it within the complex context of the culture industry (Zipes 34), so that an analysis of a common feature such as character will now involve a range of narrative media (novels, serials and films). In order to determine what character types (and hence what models of subjectivity) prevailed in the media consumption of Italian adolescents, this project investigates two linked questions: Which cultural products belonging to narrative media (books, films and serials) are most popular among adolescents?
