Abstract
Both Nicolaus Damascenus, a Syrian historian in the first century AD, and Montaigne, in the sixteenth century, make reference to the existence of kinship terminologies of the generational type, within Shiite and Brazilian tribes, respectively. This paper investigates some interpretations of their proposals regarding the existence of what Morgan, in the nineteenth century, referred to as "classificatory systems of relationship".File in questo prodotto:
