Background: In recent years, epidemiologic studies on HIV have called attention to the risk of infections in the hospital, mostly because AIDS is characterized by a high death rate and, at present, neither vaccines to protect health workers from disease onset, nor adequate treatment are available. Aims: Evaluation of the preventive interventions carried out following a previous study on the compliance of the health workers. Design: Observational study.
