We consider this point of view can offer a further and deeper level of analysis in order to comprehend contemporary social processes and their relationship with mechanisms shaping identity. Integrating a bio-psycho-social perspective of human behavior with the concept of modular-self and the consequent reconceptualization of multiculturalism, this work aims to offer a new reflection on categories such as identity and difference, inclusion and exclusion, as we can find them in a globalized society, where the constant change is a structural element of personal experience. Central focus of the discourse is the relationship of subjective experience with the context. This approach is, in our opinion, particularly fertile in this cultural-historical moment, characterized by the need to deconstruct "strong" epistemology. Abstract

This article deals with some of the main issues in cultural psychology, framing them within the wider context of generaI psychic functions. Rather than weaken personal identity, the more individuals realize the power of social mechanisms shaping their self, the more they will be able to widen their intellectual and creative action.
