Within a wide range of concentrations equimolar mixtures of DBcAMP and DBcGMP or of insulin and DBcAMP or of glucagon and DBcGMP faithfully mimicked the mitogenic stimulation of primary neonatal rat hepatocytes. These observations strongly suffest that the intra-cycle growth-promoting effects of the two pancreatic hormones are mediated via both purine cyclic nucleotides in the neonatal rat hepatocytes.

Abstract

Within a wide range of concentrations equimolar mixtures of DBcAMP and DBcGMP or of insulin and DBcAMP or of glucagon and DBcGMP faithfully mimicked the mitogenic stimulation of primary neonatal rat hepatocytes. These observations strongly suffest that the intra-cycle growth-promoting effects of the two pancreatic hormones are mediated via both purine cyclic nucleotides in the neonatal rat hepatocytes.
