The article aims to highlight the peculiar way in which Michel Serres and Bruno Latour deal with the theme of violence. In particular, it is intended to show how, for both of them, a recognition of the presence of violent dynamics within the real is necessary, yet how this recognition is crucial for their overcoming, that is, their emendation. Likewise, the attention that both authors dedicated to the theme of “micro” − that is, the smallest parts of reality − will be shown. The following paper will be divided into two parts, the first of which will be focused on Serres and the second on Latour.

Abstract

The article aims to highlight the peculiar way in which Michel Serres and Bruno Latour deal with the theme of violence. In particular, it is intended to show how, for both of them, a recognition of the presence of violent dynamics within the real is necessary, yet how this recognition is crucial for their overcoming, that is, their emendation. Likewise, the attention that both authors dedicated to the theme of “micro” − that is, the smallest parts of reality − will be shown. The following paper will be divided into two parts, the first of which will be focused on Serres and the second on Latour.
