This essay examines the contributions of labour law scholar Giorgio Ghezzi in daily newspapers and non-academic journals between 1987 and 1992, drawing on sources that remain largely overlooked in the existing literature. Analysing these writings as a form of public intellectual engagement, the essay reconstructs Ghezzi’s core theses on the social function of Labour Law, the structural dualism of the Italian system, collective conflict in essential public services, and trade union representativeness. It argues that Ghezzi consistently framed Labour Law as an instrument of social justice while maintaining the primacy of politics over legal technique. These non-academic interventions reveal a distinctive model of the labour lawyer as a public intellectual, committed to bridging scholarly rigour and political engagement.

Abstract
These non-academic interventions reveal a distinctive model of the labour lawyer as a public intellectual, committed to bridging scholarly rigour and political engagement.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
