In summary, our findings support the conclusion that the COVID-19 pandemic did not uniformly reshape anticoagulation practice but selectively accelerated trajectories that were already underway. In systems where policy frameworks and digital infrastructure enabled rapid adaptation, a temporary intensification of DOAC-centered management was observed. In others, established trends continued largely uninterrupted. The experience underscores that therapeutic evolution in anticoagulation is driven primarily by structural, economic, and clinical determinants, with global crises acting chiefly as stress tests rather than catalysts of wholesale transformation.
