In reflecting on anti-Semitism, Sartre reveals its metaphysical struc- ture, which implies a concept of image and imagery that are the correlate of both individual and social life; on the other hand, the representation of the “Jew” that the anti-Semite constructs and nurtures is strictly dependent on an unworkable idea of identity and coincidence with himself. On the basis of this analysis, the essay attempts to show what implications the references of Sartre’s essay may have for thinking about the image of mankind today.

Abstract
In reflecting on anti-Semitism, Sartre reveals its metaphysical struc- ture, which implies a concept of image and imagery that are the correlate of both individual and social life; on the other hand, the representation of the “Jew” that the anti-Semite constructs and nurtures is strictly dependent on an unworkable idea of identity and coincidence with himself. On the basis of this analysis, the essay attempts to show what implications the references of Sartre’s essay may have for thinking about the image of mankind today.File in questo prodotto:
