This is a preliminary investigation of lexical patterns in the EPIC corpus. The study looks at the Italian and English sub-corpora (source and target speeches) to explore lexical density and variety through corpus linguistics-methods. Inspired by a similar study by Sara Laviosa concerning written texts (orignal texts and translations), the results do not fully match those in Laviosa's study, with higher lexical density and variety in some sub-corpora of interpreted speeches.

Abstract
This is a preliminary investigation of lexical patterns in the EPIC corpus. The study looks at the Italian and English sub-corpora (source and target speeches) to explore lexical density and variety through corpus linguistics-methods. Inspired by a similar study by Sara Laviosa concerning written texts (orignal texts and translations), the results do not fully match those in Laviosa's study, with higher lexical density and variety in some sub-corpora of interpreted speeches.File in questo prodotto:
