The monitoring of breastfeeding during a child’s first year of life is strongly recommended. At the end of the 12th month family pediatricians fill the health evaluation form, attached to the pediatric booklet. These data can be a useful monitoring tool. From the archive of the 12th months sheets collected for the 2000- 12 birth cohorts, trend of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, have been calculated, including mothers who have breastfed at least for one month. The indicators are analyzed by birth cohort. For the 2010-12 birth cohorts, exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months was also analyzed for gestational age, district and single pediatrician. The proportion of nursing mothers is constantly above 80%, that of breastfed exclusively for 6 months is consistently above 30%. Differences emerge in relation to gestational age, district and single pediatrician. In the province of Trento the flow of pediatric sheets improved over time and provides a useful update for various indicators for target ages (12th months, 6, 13 years). Breastfeeding monitoring in the first year of life is one of these indicators. It is necessary to improve data quality and reduce the differences between pediatricians. Abstract
