The paper aims to analyse the incidence of different botanical types in the works in verse and prose of Tommaseo. Far from being a mere rhetorical ornament, the elements of the vegetal world, permeated by the divine presence that spreads over the whole of creation, are sometimes captured by the author in their concrete substance; on the other hand, are sometimes nuanced echoes and symbolic suggestions as a paradigm of an inner situation.
