In the last two decades of Kenyan history, general elections have been an occasion of high tension and conflicts with reflections in the judiciary rooms. In September 2022 the Supreme Court of Kenya pronounced itself about the regularity of the general elections of the same year. This paper seeks to analyze the reasons that have based the decision, with a particular focus on the aspects concerning the use of digital technologies in the vote procedure.

Abstract

In the last two decades of Kenyan history, general elections have been an occasion of high tension and conflicts with reflections in the judiciary rooms. In September 2022 the Supreme Court of Kenya pronounced itself about the regularity of the general elections of the same year. This paper seeks to analyze the reasons that have based the decision, with a particular focus on the aspects concerning the use of digital technologies in the vote procedure.
