The article is about violence against women in chivalric romances in Spain and Italy. Narrative motifs are studied in light of the tradition of international Motif-Indexes (Stith Thompson) and in particular within the corpus of the Mambrino Project (1544-1630), for which a Database is being prepared. The knight's adventure constitutes a happy ending to the stories about violence against women.

Abstract

The article is about violence against women in chivalric romances in Spain and Italy. Se trata de la violencia contra la mujer en las novelas de caballerías de España e Italia. Los motivos narrativos se estudian a la luz de la tradición de los índices de motivos internacionales (Stith Thompson) y, en particular, dentro del corpus del Proyecto Mambrino (1544-1630), para el cual se está preparando una base de datos. Se observa que la aventura del caballero constituye un final feliz para las historias sobre la violencia contra las mujeres.
