La famiglia Dondi dall’Orologio e il Testamentum di Petrarca

The Ms. Diez. B Sant. 99 in the Berlin Staatsbibliothek contains Petrarch's Testamentum in the version that the last editor, Theodor E. Mommsen, calls b. The codex has so far received little attention. After outlining the status quaestionis of the tradition of the Poet's last will, the contribution dwells on the history of the Berlin manuscript. It has come down to us from the archives of some members of the Dondi family and should therefore be carefully and cautiously evaluated, as it relates to the question of the origin of the name 'dall'Orologio' added to that of the noble Dondi family.

Il codice ha finora ricevuto scarse attenzioni. Dopo aver tratteggiato lo status quaestionis della tradizione delle ultime volontà del Poeta, il contributo si sofferma sulla storia del testimone berlinese. Esso ci è giunto dagli archivi di alcuni esponenti della famiglia Dondi e quindi, proprio per questo motivo, va valutato attentamente e con cautela, perché connesso con la questione dell’origine del nome «dall’Orologio» aggiunto a quello della nobile famiglia Dondi.
