In this paper, I will provide a new commentary to the Cebelireis Dağı inscription, from the perspective of Anatolian history and geography rather than following the traditional approach of Semitic philology. The analysis will contribute to our understanding of Cilicia during the Middle Iron Age and specifically during the VII century BCE, which still appears to be the most likely date for the text.

Abstract
