Antonio Labriola’s interpretation of the Renaissance is a topic addressed in the critical literature only in passing. A unified reconstruction of it is proposed in the text, examining all the writings and notes of the Philosophy of History lectures given at Sapienza University in Rome between 1887 and 1903. Surveying the main sources - Hegel, Spaventa, De Sanctis, Sismondi, Marx and Engels - the author attempts to highlight the specificity of Labriola’s characterization with regard to the point of view of the philosophy of praxis and the judgment on the Risorgimento.

Abstract
Antonio Labriola’s interpretation of the Renaissance is a topic addressed in the critical literature only in passing. A unified reconstruction of it is proposed in the text, examining all the writings and notes of the Philosophy of History lectures given at Sapienza University in Rome between 1887 and 1903. Surveying the main sources - Hegel, Spaventa, De Sanctis, Sismondi, Marx and Engels - the author attempts to highlight the specificity of Labriola’s characterization with regard to the point of view of the philosophy of praxis and the judgment on the Risorgimento.File in questo prodotto:
