Abstract

The diffusion of technologies in classrooms has led the academic world and institutions to reflect on the role that technologies had and to identify a strategy that can exploit technological potential while limiting possible dangers as much as possible. Instead of attributing an absolute positive or negative connotation to technologies, it would be more appropriate to estimate their value starting from the use we made. For this reason, it is necessary to identify a strategy that allows teachers and students to use technologies in the classroom in an aware and regulated way, defining shared usage policies. Responsibility, centrality of experience, reflection and negotiation are the key elements of what Meirieu defines «pedagogy of the contract» (2002), a strategy that favors communication between teachers and students, allowing the adult to provide effective support and, at the same time, to accompany the students towards a progressive access to autonomy (Meirieu, 2002). What derives from the confrontation between teachers and students is the pedagogical contract, the sharing of a set of rules that are the result of a discussion that allows an awareness of what consumption habits and real needs are.
