La tradizione manoscritta umanistica dell'Ars grammatica di Diomede: prime esplorazioni

This paper focuses on some aspects of the manuscript tradition and the history of the humanistic circulation of Diomedes’ Ars grammatica. The first section of the article describes some humanistic manuscripts and printed editions containing this work. In the second part we will try to outline the relationships between these witnesses, limited to the section (GL I 364,9-388,9) for which a new critical edition is in preparation. Finally, the contribution will analyse some passages of Lorenzo Valla’s works in which Diomedes’Ars is quoted; this investigation aims to indetify the codex of Diomedes owned by this humanist.
