Abstract

A votive altar, now in the Museo Archeologico al Teatro Romano di Verona, is published. The discovery data are unknown, but it certainly comes from the Verona area for the lithotype used. The altar is interesting both for the engraved figures, not refined, but unusual for some aspects, and for the inscription. It is an ex voto to Saturnus, revered here as a planetary divinity, associated with the other six gods of the week: in fact, seven carved stars appear on the altar, representing the seven planets.
