In the sport psychology literature a growing recognition is given to social support, which helps athletes to cope with and to rehabilitate from sport injury. The injured athletes’ perception of the availability of support coming not only from friends, family members, teammates, and coaches, but also from the medical staff have been extensively studied because it may affect athletes’ ability to adhere to the rehabilitation protocol and to increase motivation to successfully recovery from sport injury. Conversely, little attention has been given to the staff and operators perceptions of support given to injured athletes. Studying this can be useful for a comparison with the perceptions of injured athletes on the actual received social support. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to examine the Isokinetic’ operators social support perceptions injured athletes.
