Despite the fact that the biological and epidemiological fate of this disease remains undecipherable and substantially unpredictable, there is common perception that humanity will have to learn to live with SARS-CoV-2, and therefore to manage this new infection, for quite a long time. In this perspective, as also clearly underlined by the mantra “test, test, test” assiduously repeated by the World Health Organization (WHO), the adoption of protocols centred on early, accurate and extensive diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infections seems now indispensable, not only for preventing and containing the infection, but also for establishing an appropriate and timely therapeutic management.

Abstract
Despite the fact that the biological and epidemiological fate of this disease remains undecipherable and substantially unpredictable, there is common perception that humanity will have to learn to live with SARS-CoV-2, and therefore to manage this new infection, for quite a long time. In this perspective, as also clearly underlined by the mantra “test, test, test” assiduously repeated by the World Health Organization (WHO), the adoption of protocols centred on early, accurate and extensive diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infections seems now indispensable, not only for preventing and containing the infection, but also for establishing an appropriate and timely therapeutic management.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
